Round the world maths

To finish our week we travelled around the world in our balloon house following the co-ordinates carefully to see where we might end up. The children answered questions along the way and then made up their own directions for a friend.

Inquisitive children!

Not content with out theoretical Up experience Kingfishers wondered how far a balloon would really travel. The best way to find out is to do it so we let off 6 helium balloon with our address on to see how far they might get. We all have our fingers crossed that we might get a letter from lands far away!

Up houses

With the research complete on China, Kenya, the Sahara Desert, New York and Russia the children put together their own beautiful Up houses covered in facts. They are dotted all around the school!

Welcome to our world week

We've had a busy week in Kingfishers getting involved in 'Welcome to our world' week.  We decided to base the week on the film 'Up' and asked the children,
"If you could move your house anywhere in the world where would you go?"
This led to lots of discussion with each group eventually deciding on a country to research.

Welcome to Kingfisher class.

Watch this space to find out what is going on in your child's class.

This year Mrs McClure is training to become a teacher and she will be teaching in Kingfishers each morning.  While she is doing this I will be acting as a teaching assistant.
